Drivers urged to check their tyres

This week is National Road Safety week with Gardaí and the RSA focusing on tyre safety in particular. 

So far this year, three people have lost their lives on Tipperary's roads…this is down significantly on 2014 figures. 

According to a survey by the Road Safety Authority, while almost 80% of drivers know how to check the air pressure of their car’s tyres, 10% do it less than once a year or not at all.

Inspector Eddie Golden, head of the Traffic Corps in Tipperary says it's vital to ensure that the tyres on your vehicle are in good condition.
