The DPP has decided not to prosecute two parents accused of sexually abusing their children.

Two of their children, who are now aged 6 and 9, are at the centre of a legal battle between their foster parents and Tusla.

After withdrawing an application for permanent care orders in May, the Child and Family Agency is now trying to return them to their natural parents.

Their foster parents want the High Court to protect them until a full inquiry into the allegations is carried out.

Despite the decision not to prosecute, Gardaí are still objecting to the reunification of the family.
