In a statement to Tipp FM today, Glan Agua says that they have not recieved a letter of acceptance as of yet, and they have no date for the start of the project.
It comes less than 24 hours after Irish Water stated that the contract had been signed and executed.
The issue over whether or not the Burncourt-Fethard scheme has been given the green light has become more complicated in recent days.
Earlier this month, Junior Agriculture Minister and Tipperary TD Tom Hayes confirmed that contracts had been signed between Irish Water and Glan Agua…the company sanctioned to construct the new water treatment plants…
However, doubts about the contract signing were raised by Independent TD Mattie McGrath….who insisted that the paperwork had not been completed, something he re-iterated in recent days.
Yesterday, a spokesperson for Irish Water informed Tipp FM that contracts were signed but Glan Agua now refute this…..
In a statement to Tipp FM today, the Galway-based firm says that the Burncourt and Fethard contract has not yet been signed by Glan Agua Ltd and they have not received a letter of acceptance as of yet .
The company goes on to say that they understand Irish Water are in the process of signing the contract but they have no further information as to when they will be signing it or start dates.
The multi million Euro project has been in the pipeline for several years, and funding was allocated late last year.
