A decision on a planning application for a solar farm near Carrick on Suir has been deferred.
The plans drew considerable comment both for and against the development.
Tipperary County Council granted permission for the solar farm on the outskirts of Carrick on Suir last February.
The planned development consisted of 36,500 square metres of solar panels on a 13 hectare site at Deerpark.
The initial application drew 30 submissions to the local authority.
Some of these were in favour of the solar farm saying it would be a major benefit to the area and would hopefully attract further business to Carrick while there was also a welcome from some of a renewable energy source.
Others opposed the plans criticising the lack of consultation on the process and the possible devaluation of property in the area.
The project from Kerry based Solar Sense was subsequently appealed to An Bord Pleanala who were due to rule on the proposals in the last few days.
However according to the state planning appeals board the file is still with its inspector – a decision is now due by mid-September.
