The choice of projects selected as part of the Lough Derg stimulus plan have incurred the wrath of North Tipperary councillors.
In December members of Nenagh Town Council were asked to submitt proposals for tourism based ideas from their specific areas around the lake.
However when the chosen projects, including the Portroe Lookout and a Canoe Trial, were revealed this month, it prompted a furious reaction from councillors who claimed they only represented a very small area of Lough Derg.
Independent Councillor Joe Hannigan says communities right along the lakeshore crying out for investment were just snubbed.
Councillor Hannigan also pointed out that the proposed projects left out of the strategy were also located in a part of Tipperary that's no longer part of Premier County for the next General Election.
A view echoed by fellow independent councillor Michael O'Meara who felt that there are no votes in his area for those pulling the strings on this.
