Tipperary arrests following fraud investigation

Five people have been arrested – including some in Tipperary – as part of an investigation into invoice fraud.

It’s understood €750,000 were stolen in the scheme which involves fake suppliers e-mailing companies and telling them to redirect their payments.

Dublin Zoo was among those targeted.

Three searches were carried out in Tipperary this morning and one in Dublin.

Three men and two women have been arrested – they are being held for questioning at Clonmel, Cahir and Tallaght Garda stations.
