Man due in court over stolen machinery in Tipperary

Over 200 thousand euro worth of stolen equipment has been recovered in Tipperary.

One man is due in court in Clonmel this afternoon in connection with the haul

As part of an intelligence lead operation gardaí stopped a vehicle in the Cahir area yesterday.

In a follow up search, a large quantity of stolen equipment estimated to be valued at 200,000 euro as recovered from a premises near Ardfinnan village.

The property believed to have been stolen during burglaries in Ireland and the UK includes various industrial generators, gardening and agricultural equipment.

It was discovered in a number of sheds rented out for storage for years to various different individuals

A man in his late 20’s was arrested and taken to Cahir Garda Station for questioning under section 4 of the Criminal Justice act. – He’s now due before a special sitting of Clonmel District Court this afternoon.

The incident is all part of the ongoing operation into the recovery of stolen agricultural machinery in the Tipperary Garda Division
