An off-duty Garda was arrested over the weekend in Tipperary on suspicion of drink driving.
The member, who is stationed in the Southern Region, was tested at an MIT checkpoint in Clonmel on Sunday morning.
It has been reported in a number of publications that the Garda was more than four times over the legal limit.
He was arrested and charged and will now appear before a future sitting of Clonmel District Court.
