Creed warns further extreme floods possible with climate change

The Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed says the government needs to invest in flood relief measures to combat flooding such as that seen in Donegal this week.

He has also blamed the devastation on climate change, insisting the government needs to play its part in tackling the effects of global temperature changes.

The Defence Forces will continue to assist in the clean-up operation today, while Donegal County Council has been promised the necessary resources to provide relief.

Minister Creed says the government needs to be able to respond appropriately to extreme weather events.
