Councillors vote to keep legal definition of ice cream

Marcella Corcoran Kennedy, the Minister for Health Promotion and a TD for Offaly-North Tipp, is understood to be considering changing the legal definition of ice cream in Ireland.

The current legislation dates back to 1952.

Nenagh Councillor Michael O'Meara proposed the motion because he's afriad is will damage our dairy industry if you take away the requirement to have a certain amount of milk in any ice cream products.
