A number of housing estates in the area have been plagued by water outages over the past decades due to the old piping system in place.
Some householders were without supply for days at a time and following recent discussions betweeen the council and Irish Water remedial works are being carried out.

Independent Councillor Michéal Lowry hopes this can be a permanant solution for those affected.
