Council told to ensure rural dwellers can have rubbish collected

The controversial system has been put on hold for a year following huge hikes in charges from operators. 

Under the new laws, in order to get a licence companies will have to have the technology installed for pay-by-weight – however there are large parts of the county where bin trucks don't operate.

Nenagh Sinn Fein Councillor Seamie Morris says companies serving these communities can't afford the equipment and these customers have no way of getting rid of their refuse.
