Council to consider converting old Military Barracks in Nenagh into social housing

Tipperary County Council is being urged to consider converting the old Military Barracks in Nenagh into social housing.

It comes amid a growing number of people in the county seeking emergency accomodation while those waiting on housing lists continue to grow.

Senior Officals at Tipperary County Council say many projects including Glenconnor in Clonmel are now at stage two and that developments should start to progress quickly over the coming months.

Nenagh Sinn Fein Councillor Seamie Morris believes the old military base would be ideal and feels funding for the works could be secured from the EU.
