Laura Duncliffe says she has been overwhelmed by the response to a social media post, in which she described an incident she suffered on the streets of Cork city.

The UCC student described how she felt mortified and ashamed after a man approached her from behind and pulled up her skirt.

Laura believes such behaviour has to be challenged.

“It does happen to loads of people and it is brushed off – but is that right to brush something like it under the carpet? No, because obviously it's done too much” she said.

“And it is brushed under the carpet so much and these people get away with it that they think it's OK to do it again”.

“I wonder has he done that to somebody else before” she added.
