It's an event that's meant to confirm Donald Trump as the party's Presidential nominee.

But a number of delegates walked out after they were denied the chance to register their opposition to his nomination.

Last night's theme was “Make America Safe Again,” and speakers focused on war and peace overseas, illegal immigration along the border, law enforcement in America's cities.

Earlier in the day, a slight setback occurred when anti-Trump republicans tried to force a roll-call vote on the convention rules that could have freed delegates to vote their conscience and not for Trump.

The unsuccessful attempt by members of the party from various different factions was the last chance those republicans have at preventing Donald Trump form being their candidate.

Trump will be nominated tomorrow and will give his acceptance speech this Thursday.

In the meantime, 2 people were arrested amid various protests around the city.
