The plan involves an upgrade of the current East Limerick pipelines that runs to Birdhill and serves Ballina and Killaloe which will then be extended to Nenagh.
It’s estimated that the project will save local businesses and public institutions up to 30 million euro in energy costs.

Signing off on the plans Environment Minister and local TD Alan Kelly says it’s the single largest investment in Nenagh in decades which will protect jobs and create new investment.
