Confusion over whether Kilkenny poster vandalism is recent

There is some confusion around the widely condemned vandalism of Kilkenny hurling poster.

The sign in Urlingford was wishing the Kilkenny team the best of luck in this weekends showdown against Tipperary.

But it’s been daubed with red paint that reads ‘Up Tipp’.

The vandalism has been shared widely on social media.

But while condemning the incident, Tipperary Deputy Michael Lowry says it may not be recent.

He says there is a lot of commentary on his own social media page, suggesting that the poster is old and the vandlasim may not be recent.
