Clonmel based Councillor Catherine Carey says fire personnel in both South Tipp stations have been told by the Chief Fire Officer that the chainsaws are being transferred to North Tipp.

The Sinn Fein representative says no stations should be left without such vital equipment.

She claims fire services are effectively being downgraded as a result.
