Concern for future of vital rural scheme in Tipperary.

Councillor John Carroll has expressed concern at the possible termination of the Rural Social Scheme in Tipperary after 2013.

Councillor Carroll raised the matter at this weeks meeting of North Tipperary Co. Council,

The Fianna Fail representative has asked the Council to write an urgent letter to Minister Joan Burton, to seek clarification on the future status of the scheme.

The Rural Social Scheme has 2,500 places nationally and gives a much needed economic stimulus to rural families in maintaining vibrancy and quality of life in rural Tipperary.
