Tributes paid to former South Tipp Councillor and GAA stalwart

A former Councillor and Chairman of South Tipperary GAA Board will be laid to rest today.

Joe Brennan’s funeral will take place at midday in St Mary’s Church Grangemockler after he passed away over the weekend following a battle with cancer.

He served one term on South Tipperary county council from the 2009 elections and was appointed as head of the GAA in South Tipp in 2011.

Former Fine Gael party colleague Cllr Marie Murphy led the tributes at this week’s meeting of the local authority.

She says Joe was a hard worker for his community – and a fighter.
