A Nenagh man has spoken of the terror experienced in Liverpool city centre yesterday when a car ploughed into people celebrating Liverpool FC’s Premier League success.
27 were hospitalised including 4 children with another 20 people being treated at the scene.
A 53 year old Merseyside man has been arrested and terrorism was quickly ruled out as a motive by police.
Dearan O’Gorman from Nenagh was at the celebrations and had to jump clear of the car.
On Tipp Today earlier he recalled the scene that unfolded.
“Myself and one of the lads with me are in the Fire Brigade so we just went back to see if there’s anything we could do. We’re kind of used to seeing traumatic incidents but they’re usually after the fact – we arrive after something has happened. But to see this in real time right in front of your eyes was something I’ll never forget.
“There was bodies being thrown everywhere and there was three adults and a child caught underneath the car when it did stop.
“It was just crazy, it was carnage and something I’ll never forget.”
