Two local water supplies serving 28,000 Tipperary homes farms and businesses have been removed from the EPA’s Remedial Action List.
It means the Nenagh and Thurles supplies are no longer considered to be among the most at-risk supplies in the country.
The Nenagh and Thurles Regional Water Supplies have been taken off the Environmental Protection Agency’s list of supplies where problems are most likely to happen.
The Coolbawn treatment plant was upgraded to provide a more robust and resilient disinfection system.
It serves over 15,000 premises across Nenagh, Silvermines, Portroe, Gortagarry, Puckaun, Urra, Dromineer, Toomevara, Dolla, and Newtown.
The Thurles treatment plant had upgrades to its process controls – it’s serving 13,000 households and businesses across Thurles, Ballycahill, Littleton, Horse & Jockey, Holycross, Bouladuff, Dovea, Borrisoleigh and Drom
