A boil water notice for those supplied by the Horse and Jockey Public Water Supply has been lifted.
It has been in place since early September to protect the health of consumers following consultation with the Health Service Executive.
Uisce Éireann says all customers can now resume normal use of the water supply for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth.
It follows the completion of work by the utility to install new water mains in the area which has enabled the connection of customers on the Horse & Jockey supply to the Thurles Regional Water Supply Scheme, and the decommissioning of the vulnerable Horse & Jockey Scheme.
Meanwhile Uisce Éireann continues to work to lift the Boil Water Notice in place for customers supplied by the Carrick On Suir (Crotty’s Lake) Water Supply.
This notice was issued on November 25 to protect the health of approximately 1,937 customers due to operational issues at water treatment plant.
