Locals in Dualla say they are more concerned than ever about plans for a major solar farm in the area.
They have been opposed to the proposals from Power Capital since the original planning application was lodged with the local authority.
Tipperary County Council subsequently sought further information in relation to the 130 hectare site.
Conor Breen from the Dualla Together group told Tipp Today earlier that the details submitted has led them to engage expert advice to further their opposition at significant cost to the local community.
“The most concerning thing for the people of Dualla that’s come out of the further information that Power Capital submitted is that they put in information about their substation. Its going to be located in the village and its going to be bigger than a housing estate. That is very, very concerning.
“Talking to other solar farms that have been granted planning there’s always a Phase 2 and the size of the substation from the experts would tell us there’s going to be a Phase 2.”
A public information evening will be held in Dualla Community Hall at 7pm next Sunday evening.
