Dunne urges caution at traditional Halloween bonfires

A local Councillor is appealing to people not to use Halloween bonfires as a dumping ground.

Carrick-on-Suir based David Dunne says some people are using the fires to get rid of household rubbish and other non flammable stuff that they want to dispose of.

But these can be dangerous to burn and can leave a lot of clean-up to be done afterwards.

Cllr Dunne says in many cases rubbish is left strewn around the whole area when it could easily be disposed of responsibly.
