It’s a free informal event for parents and guardians who want to help local teenagers make better choices about food and substance use – legal ones as well as illegal.

Derek Fanning from the Tipperary Volunteer Centre says part of it is about inspiring young people to be more connected to their local community.

The event at Hillview Sports Centre is also pushing the importance of fostering more of a connection with the local community.

Drug Education Officer with the HSE John Leahy says he’s seeing a lot of problems now with legal drugs like vapes and alcohol – not just illegal substances.
