The tap water is safe to drink again for 2,000 local homes and businesses in the Carrick-on-Suir area.
Uisce Éireann has lifted a Boil Water Notice that’s been in place on the Crotty’s Lake Public Supply for nearly five months.

It was issued on the 24th of November last year due to technical problems at the plant.
Uisce Éireann’s Jim Fitzgerald is apologising to locals in the area that it took so long to fix the issues.
He says their efforts were complicated by the extreme weather earlier this year.
