Almost half the households left without water across the country due to the cold snap are in Tipperary.
40,000 customers are reported to be dealing with water outages after the snow but Uisce Éireann has confirmed that 17,000 of those homes and businesses are in the Premier County.
The utility says crews are working in difficult freezing conditions to fix the issues but they are warning that some local families may not get normal supply back until Wednesday.
Schemes currently affected include Galtee Regional Supply Scheme, Springmount, Templetney, Tullohea and Glengar Upper.
Uisce Éireann’s Colin Cunningham says the repair work is proving very difficult due to the conditions.
