Communities in fear of further Garda Station closures

Justice Minister Alan Shatter is being asked to clarify how many more Garda stations are to close in County Tipperary.

Nenagh based Councillor John Carroll claims the decision to close Ballinure and Ballinderry Garda stations is just the beginning of a sustained attack on community policing.

The Fianna Fail representative also wants the Justice Minister to explain the savings identified from the closure of Garda stations around the country.

Councillor Carroll claims the threat of further station closures across Tipperary is causing a significant amount of fear in local communities.
