The Garda Commissioner’s defended her evidence to the PAC over financial irregularities at the training college in Templemore.
Members of the Public Acounts Committee have raised concern over her answers during six hours of questioning yesterday.
Local Labour TD Alan Kelly, who was chairing the committee, described the evidence as unbelievable and incredible on Tipp Today.
At one stage Nóirín O’Sullivan told the committee she was informed of the irregularities during a five minute ‘cup of tea’ gathering, but her head of Human Resources produced a document contradicting that and saying it was a meeting lasting over two hours.
However Commissioner O’Sullivan is insisting the length of the meeting wasn’t an issue and rejects claims she in any way misled the committee.
