Clonmel teacher appointed to Teaching Council

A Tipperary man is one of Education Minister Ruairí Quinn’s recent appointments to the Teaching Council.

Noel Buckley was elected to the Teaching Council in the Munster sector.

Originally from Holycross near Thurles, Noel currently lives near Clonmel where he is a Programmes Coordinator and teacher of Religious Education and History at the Presentation Secondary School.

He is a member of the ASTI's Education Committee and Central Executive Council.

The Council is the regulatory body for teaching in Ireland, which sets and maintains professional standards in teaching at primary and post-primary level, and within specific areas of the further education sector.
