A leading employer in Clonmel has closed its doors with little or no warning to staff.

Northern Ireland retail chain Menary's pulled down the shutters on its O'Connell Street store yesterday.

The outlet opened to much fanfare in October of 2009 and at the time created 60 full and part-time jobs.

Last evening stock was being removed from the store – it's understood staff were only informed of the closure this week.
