The incident happened at around 11am on the Davis Road when Gardai were alerted to a number of men acting suspiciously in the area.
When Gardaí arrived they discovered a youth trying to gain access to a house with a crowbar.

A chase ensued and the suspects jumped into a blue 04 D registration Nissan Almera.
A Garda was dragged along the street by the car for a short distance before he managed to free himself by smashing the drivers’ window.
No arrests were made.
