The High Court has heard that the DID Electrical outlet in Clonmel is a very successful business and is not closing.

Pansea Ltd which runs the outlet under franchise at the Poppyfields Retail Park is seeking an injunction against the national retail chain from interfering with its business since the franchise agreement ended.

The matter was before the High Court on Tuesday which heard claims that DID turned up outside the Clonmel store last Thursday- which was closed at the time for rebranding and intercepted business destined for Pansea.

Negotiations between both sides failed to resolve the issue following which Pansea sought ex-parte injunctions or undertakings.

Mr Justice Paul Gilligan gave permission for Pansea to serve proceedings at short notice on DID.
