Cleared of manslaughter but now admits to spate of burglaries

A Tipperary man previously acquitted of the killing of Offaly publican Matt Farrell has pleaded guilty to the burglary of four pubs in the midlands.

Last March a jury found Eddie Wing, with a previous address at Roscrea, NOT guilty of the manslaughter of Mr Farrell during a burglary at his pub in April 2009.

Yesterday 31 year old Wing pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to the burglary of a home at Cullenagh, Portlaoise, Co Laois in January, 2009.

He also pleaded guilty to burglaries at pubs in Kilcormack, Castlecomer, Moate and Ballacolla in February of the same year.

Judge Martin Nolan remanded Wing in custody for sentencing on July 30.
