A major operation has begun this morning to clear illegal structures from a halting site in Clonmel.

A number of trucks and heavy plant equipment arrived at the site on the Inner Relief road near the racecourse at around 7am.
It's understood sheds built on a hill to the side of the site are to be removed.
One of the residents of the halting site told Tipp FM News that they were aware the sheds were to be removed but said they had not been informed of when.
Gardai are maintaining a presence at the site as the work takes place.
