A court in Bolivia has heard claims that Tipperary man Michael Dwyer survived a police raid on his hotel before being summarily executed..
The 24 year old Ballinderry native was among three men who were shot dead in Bolivia in April of 2009 amid claims they were part of a plot to kill President Evo Morales.
Authorities in the South American country said the three had died in a shoot-out at a hotel in Santa Cruz.
However according to the Irish Times a Hungarian man who was with Michael Dwyer in Bolivia and is facing terrorism charges has testified that he saw the Tipperary man alive at Santa Cruz airport after the police raid on the Las Americas hotel.
Michael Dwyer’s family believe he was summarily executed.
