A lack of political willpower and clout is being blamed for the abscence of progress on a Thurles bypass.
The claim from local councillor Jim Ryan comes following the inclusion this week of the Shannon Crossing, the upgrade of the Ballina – Birdhill route and a bypass for Killaloe in the Capital Plan Review.
While accepting the need for the works on the multi-million Euro project on the Tipp – Clare border, Councillor Ryan says Thurles has been ignored for far too long.
