A young child has died following a traffic incident in Waterford City.
It happened on Manor Street in the city this morning.

The child died while being transferred by ambulance to University Hospital Waterford .
The child's mother was taken to hospital but her injuries are not believed to be serious.
Gardai say the area has been closed off to traffic and will remain closed for some time.
