Changes in Tipperary speed limits criticised

The decision to increase the speed limit at a dangerous junction near Clonmel has been strongly criticised.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland has this week changed the speed limit on a section of the N24 between Clonmel and Carrick on Suir, increasing it from 80 kilometres to 100.

But there has been much criticism of this decision with local road users saying it has made the junction at Redmonstown extremely dangerous.

A number of local residents voiced their concerns on Tipp FM this morning.

Councillor Martin Lonergan has sought answers from Transport Infrastructure Ireland as to why they decided to increase the speed limit
