He will meet with officials from Tipperary County Council at the Civic offices at 4 o'clock this afternoon to sign over the former army barracks site on the Davis Road.

The barracks was decommissioned in 2012 – the local authority has developed a master plan for the property.

Among the proposals is for Clonmel Garda Station to be relocated to the barracks, however no funding has yet been put in place.
