Central Bank optimistic about economic growth

The Central Bank says there are signs of improvement emerging in the Irish economy.

In its latest Quarterly Bulletin – the bank is revising upwards its economic growth forecasts for 2014.

It projects the economy will grow this year by two point one per cent – and by three point two per cent next year.

It also expects unemployment to fall to 11.9 per cent by the end of the year – down from an earlier forecast of 13 per cent.
