Ceasefire in place in Gaza.

Thousands of residents in Gaza City took to the streets to celebrate the new ceasefire, which was announced yesterday after talks in Egypt.

More than 2-thousand Palestinians and 69 Israelis have died in the latest conflict.

Israel has agreed to ease the blockade on Gaza, open border crossings for more aid and extend the fishing rights of Gazans.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Foreign Affairs has welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire in Gaza and Israel.

Charlie Flanagan says there seems real hope that this agreement could finally end a terrible chapter of violence and terror for people.
