Catholic priest calls for a ‘yes’ vote in May’s referendum on marriage equality

Fr Iggy O'Donovan's on the opposite side of the argument from one of the country's bishops, who says the vote should not be passed.

Bishop of Elphin Dr Kevin Doran yesterday said he opposed the referendum on a number of grounds, including what he saw as a redefinition of parenthood that would follow.

Fr O'Donovan says he upholds the teaching of the Catholic Church, but respects that some people have a different view.
