A local business group in Carrick on Suir is making a major drive to encourage people to shop local this Christmas.
The Christmas Shopping Festival in the town runs from today until Saturday and culminates with the Christmas Tractors which provide a spectacular light-show in the town.

Members of the Carrick on Suir Business Association are behind the campaign with chairman Seamus Campbell saying everyone is getting behind the effort to promote the town with a hinterland taking in South Tipperary, Kilkenny and Waterford.
