Carrick on Suir residents are stepping up efforts to crack down on criminal activity in their area.
It's set to become the first town in the country to establish a Community Text Alert scheme which is backed by Muintir na Tire.
Tipperary's Chief Superintendent Catherine Kehoe will officially launch the initiative at the Carraig Hotel this evening.
