Candidates asked to respect efforts of Tidy Towns groups.

Independent candidate in the Clonmel – Cahir electoral area Martin Lonergan says the sheer volume of posters in urban areas across the county is detracting from the great efforts being done by local groups.

As a result he has decided not to erect posters in these areas.

However Martin Lonergan accepts it's too late to ask other candidates not to put up posters in towns and villages for the May 23rd elections.

Instead he is calling on those contesting future elections to ensure no posters are erected in urban areas.
