Calls to expedite opening of new A&E in Limerick

Last week the hospital group were forced to activate their escalation plan to deal with an unexpected increase in people presenting for treatment, particularly elderly patients.

This included the cancellation of surgery and moving delayed discharge patients to Nenagh and other hospitals.

North Tipperary Sinn Fein Councillor Seamie Morris says it’s a disgrace and is calling on Minister Leo Varadkar to push for the Limerick A&E to be open before 2016.
