Calls for Tipperary County Council to use the former County Museum in Clonmel as a location to help start-up businesses have been ruled out.
However the local authority hasn’t ruled out any potential new owners of the site doing so.
This weeks meeting of Clonmel Borough District heard calls for “hot desk spaces” to be made available for new businesses.
Councillor Siobhan Ambrose pointed out that while the council is involved with the likes of the Local Enterprise Office, Clonmel currently doesn’t have a facility in the heart of the town to help budding entrepreneurs
Councillor Pat English suggested that the former County Museum would be an ideal location for such a facility.
He has already expressed opposition to the Council’s plans to sell the building on Parnell Street after the museum was relocated to Mick Delahunty Square in the town.
However District Manager Sinead Carr says Tipperary County Council won’t be using the site for “hot desk spaces”
