Calls for BER ratings to be considered in rent levels

Tipperary County Council is being urged to take BER ratings into account when deciding on rent levels for local authority houses.

It follows considerable outcry at the Council’s decision to harmonise rents across the county which many elected representatives claim will lead to significant increases for some tenants when it comes into force on July 2nd.

Independent Hughie McGrath says those who have to pay more for heating should pay less for rent.
